The workpieces are first freed of old paint and blasted to ensure optimal adhesion for the coating.

We also offer paint stripping of carbon frames/forks.

Since the parts are very sensitive, this is very time consuming.

Cerakote is the perfect coating, especially for bicycle components and attachments that usually have to be installed precisely.

If possible, please deliver the frame and components disassembled and degreased.

If you can't do that, we also offer in cooperation with our partner Christoph from Just La Vie - Cyclery a full service.

Here the frames are disassembled and reassembled after coating.

DISADVANTAGES OF TRADITIONAL BICYCLE PAINTS - WHY IS CERAKOTE BETTER THAN TRADITIONAL BICYCLE PAINT?

When purchasing mountain bikes or road bikes, many cyclists agree that the overall weight of the bike is one of the most important purchasing attributes. Cerakote is a thin layer single layer ceramic-based coating (10 – 40 µm). This results in a weight reduction of two to four hundred grams (on average) compared to powder coatings or other paint-based coating systems.

Whether racing or recreational, road and off-road bikes, especially mountain bikes, are subjected to heavy wear and tear. Cerakote is a ceramic-based performance coating. Cerakote offers industry-leading durability, hardness and scratch resistance, as well as chemical resistance that protects the entire finish of your bike. Cerakote is not susceptible to the chipping or blistering that is common in existing paint. It is completely chemical resistant and will not be attacked by chemicals such as road oil, tar, chain lube or brake fluid.

In addition, Cerakote's chemistry provides anti-rust properties that provide exceptional protection for small mechanical parts. Furthermore, its low coefficient of friction and lubricity means less wear on moving parts, which can dramatically improve durability while supporting an overall smoother ride. Reduced friction also means improved mechanical efficiency.

However, Cerakote does not last forever, after all, we cannot do magic.

At some point, the coating will develop a patina from hard objects that constantly scratch it or bags that rub against it. That's live.

Personally, I think the look is best when the bike and its coating can tell a story.

Both Cerakote Elite and H-Series are suitable for most bicycle frame repairs and/or fabrications. There are endless possibilities for customization on frames, forks, handlebars, stems, seatposts, rims, hubs, spokes and other small parts.

CERAKOTE PERFORMANCE

  • Extremely thin, does not affect the functions of threads and other bicycle components.

  • Durable and wear-resistant.

  • Has a very modern and distinctive look and a nice feel.

  • Self-lubricating properties that reduce friction in moving parts.

  • Adheres to steel, aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber, polymers and other surfaces.

  • Hydrophobic properties prevent the accumulation of dirt, mud and road grime and make cleaning easier.

How long is the processing time?

The processing time is approximately 3 - 4 weeks in the high season/winter; in the low season/summer approximately 2 - 3 weeks and of course depends on the scope and size of the order.
